To Profile Possession
For the purpose of exorcism or the
blessing of a home or land to rid it of unclean spirits, it is important to
know exactly what you are dealing with before hand, where it came from, and how
it came to be in the geographical perception of where it is now. To do that,
you would start with the who?
Below, I have outlined some
different types of summoner or spiritualist in correlation to how or what they
would summon. The first being, Primo-scriptural.
They’re methods would be the same
as those from the Bible as well. A crude alter and, or a perversion of rites
intended for a stroke of power enlisted through blasphemy. Example: traditional
animal sacrifices, a goat, a lamb, an oxen or fowl listed in Leviticus, are
considered clean sacrificial animals that could be used to summon a spirit or
demon by way of heresy. A blasphemy of such an extreme would give the summoner
power.
Either way, the mocking or
mirroring of a holy rite for an unholy purpose would enlist the power of
blasphemy so, the summoner could still use something unnatural to sacrifice
such as, any split hoof animal, a mule, a dog, and, in extreme cases, an infant
or a virgin.
In summation, an act of evil for the granting of evil ability. The more evil the act, the greater the ability, lending the summoner more power.
A summoner could be someone of any age in correlation to their social environment. To give further clarity in the intricacy of understanding I’ve broken these down into three types: the false prophet, the coven, and the warlock.
The false profit
In the case of the false prophet, this person could be a preacher, by day, so to speak, with a darker, yet veiled side to their personality. There would be no shame in this person other than the physiological quickening of power from that shame. This person could be male or female and may have a partner that is most commonly a spouse. The partner could be subordinate or could seem that way by outwardly appearance when in truth, they are the true power behind the throne.
In the event that the secret
shadow religion were a form of witchcraft, then the seemingly subordinate
female would most assuredly be the dominant. However, in the event of a more
Druidic form of witchcraft, the male would most likely be dominant. It would
depend heavily on the dominance reflex resulting from skill level or
personality conditioning between the two.
A tree is judged by its fruit. This
applies to both sinners and saints. In the case of a male/female partnership of the false prophet component , the
gleaning of who is the dominant would show in their daily activities. In the Druidic form, the female would come off
as meek and show less initiative in activities. She would most likely only
initiate at the male partners behest. Hence, the male would be the dominant and
the female subordinate to him. He himself would have a very domineering
personality in a bold colorful way while also being quick to anger with a
disposition to cold, degrading comments to any subordinate.
In the Wiccan form, the female
would be in a constant state of initiative activity with a fine eye for detail.
Summoning and giving orders to subordinates of the male. She is over kind and
friendly while seeking other females to fold into her circle.
The male partner, with an air of
dominance, would simply follow routine as if all were happening at his unspoken
command. He is patient. Slow to anger. His ways are set in stone as to protect
the female partners reflection of what is expected of him in the world she has
summoned around her.
The partner component does not
have to be husband and wife. It could be mother and son or father and daughter.
It could be brother and sister, two brothers, two sisters. Either way, they
would reflect Christian values.
Their followers could be willing
participants in this shadow religion, completely clueless or, a mix of both.
The more stable variety of this group
would blend themselves into the more proliferate denominations of the Christian
religion while the less stable would exist in obscure or singular
denominations.
On a final note, if you set ritual
aside, the false profit does not have to be intentional. They could truly
believe that they are worshipping God or Christ while justifying the
supplication of there own carnal or greedy desires through self righteousness.
Examples of this would be Jim Jones or David Koresh.
As for a teenage group. This is both common and uncommon in the sense that the group lacks stability due to the recklessness of angst that brought them to this path or the devolving of the curiosity that may have led some of the practitioners to it.
There would likely be drug use and
sexuality in there ritual, use of an alter, or even a circle. It depends
greatly on the dominants familiarity with ritual. This would also influence the
type of demon summoned but, these groups tend to go for the darkest most evil power
accessible, that being: the devil, Satan, Lucifer. The sacrifices would most
likely be unclean animals. Their temple would likely be an abandoned building
of some sort, an old house, or old church.
This group would likely disband
quickly but, still leave a mark on each others soul. They would be haunted by
the product of their summoning leading to poor life choices in adult life
including criminality as well as excessive drug use to cope with nightmares.
With an adult group there would be
more stability in both their personal lives as well as among there circle. This
could be an instance, maybe, where the teenage group was able to stabilize and
incorporate themselves into society while veiling themselves as Christians in a
way similar to the false profit type. The big difference between this subtype
of the coven and the type of the false profit type is that though there will
still be a central leader, their inner circle will be larger and they will be
less likely to be leaders in a Christian group. They would choose to blend in by
gaining favor through works or contribution.
Drug use would be minimal if
present at all but, sexuality and some sort of sacrifice would be part of there
ritual.
The Warlock
The term Warlock itself is most commonly associated with being a male witch but, the original definition ran more along the lines of traitor, deceiver, or someone whom had broken an oath.
I use it here as a descriptor of a
summoner who operates more as a lone wolf.
The Warlock type of summoner would
begin as a troubled youth. They can be silently narcissistic with sociopathic
or psychopathic symptoms. This person would be someone who is isolated or
doesn’t fit into normal social circles. They would very likely dress in a
manner as to suggest a Gothic personality or to even just have a dark demeanor but,
could still be dressed in a way that would be considered normal and cause them
to go unnoticed.
They would be lower or middle
class coming from a troubled home or a normal home. Maybe even a home that
seems normal on the surface. They could be using drugs or not. These conflicting
factors are what makes this type of summoner quite diverse and probably the
most dangerous.
The most important consideration
is, what is going on in there mind. Homicidal or suicidal urges that they entertain
in fantasy could be building blocks for there ritual. They are likely not to
actually take a human life but could use animals as surrogates. These evil
thoughts most likely brought them to the conclusion that they are naturally
evil so they embrace this path.
They may join one of the groups
mentioned above in an attempt to fit in somewhere but, likely wouldn’t stay
long due to rejection by the group or their own rejection of the group when the
groups ideals don’t line up with there own.
In a normal social setting this person would be overlooked and not be a dominant figure but, in a cult setting they might see themselves as a dominant while not asserting themselves as such due to there reclusive nature which would cause them to leave the group. This person is a novice and likely to experience one or a series of mental breakdowns whether made obvious or not but, novice, is a step to mastery. This person is very intelligent and providing they survive the mental break down phase, will evolve from the primo-scriptural to a broader form of summoner.
It’s important to note that these different types and subtypes could easily be intermingled. All the traits of each could apply to the other. The Warlock could become the False prophet or the leader of a Coven providing they reach a bloom in their social skills. This work provides a base line where in which the blanks could be filled in through observation and process of elimination.
